French Video Game Editor/Translator (m/f)

Position overview

We are currently seeking full-time French Editors/Translators to fill in-house positions in our office in Berlin.

The successful candidate will be in charge of translating or reviewing translations of video game titles from English, respecting production schedules and quality. The Editor/Translator will be working on various projects for all platforms, including titles from very prestigious clients along with an in-house team of translators and coordinators.

Responsibilities

  • Translation, editing and proofreading of video-game related content into French
  • Creation and updating of guides, databases and terminology lists
  • File analysis and preparation
  • Coordination of localization projects
  • Controlling quality and compliance with guidelines and reference material
  • Providing input and feedback for continuous improvement of processes
  • Training other team members on processes/cultural aspects

French Video Game Localization Coordinator (m/f)

Position overview

We are currently seeking a full-time French Linguistic Coordinator to fill an internal position in our office in Berlin. The candidate will be in charge of managing and coordinating the multilingual translation of video game titles, respecting production schedules and budgets. He or she should be able to demonstrate strong organizational abilities as well as linguistic skills.

The Coordinator will be working on a large range of projects for all platforms, including titles from very prestigious clients along with an in-house team of translators and coordinators and a freelance translator network.

Responsibilities

  •  Translation and proofreading of video-game related content into French
  • Creation and updating of guides, databases and terminology lists
  • File analysis and preparation
  • Coordination of multilingual localization projects using in-house and external resources
  • Supervision of internal and external teams during and between projects
  • Controlling quality and compliance with guidelines and reference material
  • Managing external resources
  • Training other team members on tools and processes

Qualifications

  • Outstanding skills in French
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written
  • Translation experience required, language degree a plus

Localization Project Manager (m/f)

Position Overview

The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating the localization of diverse video games titles from our clients and partners. This includes internal deliveries with all the relevant departments (audio, translation, testing, DTP) while providing the sole interface for the client.

The role of Project Manager requires constant liaising with a variety of high-profile managers and developers in order to guarantee the delivery of projects within a specified deadline and budget. At the same time, the Project Manager must also ensure that projects are held to the highest standards of quality with the production team.

Responsibilities

  • Managing localization projects from beginning to end
  • Providing input and feedback for continuous improvement of processes, services, and client relationships
  • Being the main point of contact between the Altagram team and clients: be accountable, transparent and flexible
  • Shorten localization time-to-market, reduce costs and help our clients achieve their global business objectives
  • Briefing and debriefing the team for each project
  • Ensuring the most effective use of our software tools for assigned projects
  • Creating and controlling localization project budgets, performing cost tracking analysis, ensuring timely issuance of purchase orders and invoices
  • Traveling to fairs or events to meet potential or established clients
  • Leading meetings and conference calls, including project kick-off meetings, weekly and ad-hoc, issue solves and performing post-mortems
  • Identifying and solving of problems quickly and effectively

Requirements

  • Self-motivation and ability to solve problems and make decisions while acting independently and decisively
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills required
  • Experience in an agency environment
  • Experience with audio projects is a real plus
  • Confident customer relations and excellent communication skills
  • Awareness of cross cultural differences
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload effectively
  • Knowledge of standard software, specifically: MS Project, MS Office
  • Knowledge of localization tools: MemoQ, Plunet
  • Familiarity with principles of internationalization and globalization
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members
  • Passion for video games

This position is full-time and in-house at the Altagram office in Berlin.
